We are a collection of experienced guides and tour leaders who have spent years taking groups to many different corners of this beautiful region. After surviving a long time as pirates for Those Dam Boat Guys we made a land invasion, grabbed some bikes and hit the dikes, intent on building biking tours of Amsterdam and the surrounding region that truly allow visitors to experience this place in the best way possible… with two wheels beneath you and the world at your handlebars.
Amsterdam is made for biking, but it can be a daunting realm to roam unless ye’ve got some fellow scallywags to voyage with. Well, matey, the Amsterdam Bike Pirates are your crew!
As bike pirates we follow the streams of fancy and the currents of fortune. Before each tour we’ll lick a finger (any finger, really, it doesn’t matter) and hold it to the wind, letting our whim and the wind steer our course.
As such, no two tours are ever the same but the objectives are.

…you will discover the beautiful and authentic farming land of a region called Waterland, north of Amsterdam. This tour will give you an incredibly deep appreciation of how so much of Holland has been reclaimed from the sea, and how the lands and villages surrounding Amsterdam have catered and contributed to the emergence of such a famous metropolis.

This tour is a new twist on an old classic. Amsterdam is changing and we feel that the way that people experience it on bikes can too. Rather than limiting ourselves to a stock standard route, we give ourselves the freedom to venture as far and wide to wherever we feel would benefit each group. In a maximum group of 8 bike-a-neers sitting gloriously atop classic Dutch ‘townies’, you will be led through a range of Amsterdam neighbourhoods and parks & quickly become immersed in how cycling has come to be a fully integrated part of life here. At the same time, we’ll explain how the town has grown and changed over time, as well as how it continues to shift and what makes it tick.
Along canals and over dikes may you pedal & plunder.

This tour is our darling, a tour based on our own favourite thing to do outside of Amsterdam: cycling through the amazing countryside and nature reserves that abound beyond the city limits - in a region called Waterland.
In a maximum group of 8 bike-a-neers, we will take you cycling into the endless horizon of Amsterdam Noord (that’s Dutch for ‘North’ - it kinda rhymes with ‘Lord’, which is what you’ll be when sitting on your bangin’ e-bike). Together, we’ll venture through local green pastures and small villages, embraced by the peace and quiet of idyllic rural Holland. Natural bird reservoirs, windmills, quaint farmhouses and insanely beautiful biking paths all lay at the doorstep of this famous city and we are gonna’ take you there!

After a jaunt with the Amsterdam Bike Pirates you’ll return to the city a grizzled veteran of our biking ways, fully equipped to deal with all those high heeled socialites on wheels and suited maniacs flying within inches of your face, or packs of pedalling pensioners persistently pushing past your pedestrian priorities. Being a Bike Pirate is a way of life, so come and join the crew.
